Tough race initially made a little easier with a few key scratchings. TORNADO EXPRESS (2) is building a nice record, enhanced last start when she bolted in over this course and distance at BM66 level. Keeps raising the bar and with luck from an awkward gate can score again. UP THE COUNTRY (4) had to dig deep to win when fresh from a 14-week spell recently over 1000m at Gunnedah. Goes well second-up and is far more at home over this sort of trip. Wide barrier the only knock. CRIMSON BONNET (9) is back from a three-month spell. Opened last prep with a fast-finishing third in a strong form race over 1000m at Scone. This is a more suitable first-up assignment so she is right in contention. HIMORHER (11) returns after an eight-month absence. Will be better for the run but cannot be ruled out while fresh. ACOTANGO (3) hasn't won for a long while but saves his best for Tamworth so include him in exotics.
