KOIOS (1) handy gelding expected to get off the mark at start four. Finds a very weak maiden after returning with a strong on-pace fourth when covering ground over 1150m at Randwick Kensington. Stable in form and should prove too smart for these. AVALON LADY (6) blundered on jumping and held up in the straight when a poor eighth over 1250m at Newcastle. Won a recent 1000m trial at Wyong and expected to have come on further since. Big improver. STAR VENTURE (8) much better effort after working home fairly from the sticky draw when second at Muswellbrook. Trained locally and doesn't have to improve much to take a hand in the finish from the low draw. SHARE THE JOY (4) was a month between runs when jumped in trip from the inside gate for a gritty third over 1300m at Newcastle. A repeat effort will see her play a leading role.
