AD ASTRA (8) is a promising filly returning for the Hickmott stable. Was narrowly beaten in some nice 2YO races last prep before running third at the Valley. Takes benefit from a lead-up trial win. Should take some stitching. SECRET WONDER (3) was poised to strike on debut but just lacked the finishing punch. Has been freshened with a 51-day break and looks to have his share of ability. SHADY THINKER (5) is a So You Think gelding on debut for the nifty Bain & Taylor partnership. Showed positive signs in readiness taking out both trials and has Holder sticking from the latest. Inside alley another tick. Similar story for THIRD MASTER (6) who is a son of Brutal for Jon O'Connor. Strips fitter for a Strathalbyn trial win and it'd be no surprise to see him make a bright start. ARAMOSO (1) carries the fitness edge over his main rivals. Will need to improve to be in the finish but there's no reason he can't.
