Open race. ETOILE FILANTE (5) broke through for a dominant maiden win over this course and distance having threatened to do so in a couple of runs prior. He won by nearly four lengths there and with any luck from the wide gate he should measure up strongly. MINTMAN (3) is racing consistently well, close up in a handy Class 1 over this route when last seen, finding the line strongly on that occasion. If he can settle a pair or two closer he'll be very hard to hold out. MORDIALLOC BEACH (8) won her maiden well enough over this route last time out, only her second career start. She'll need to improve but can do so. ARTFUL LODGER (13) has shown ability in two runs to date, in the market on both occasions. She maps to land in front and should take catching. REBELS (6) is on the up and should measure up well.
