FRONTEX (1) firmed five points late in betting on debut last start at Canterbury and ran accordingly, getting up for a close second after making a sustained run from the 600m mark. Winkers on and back to the provincials so he looks ideally placed to open the account. John Sargent's INEVITABLE TRUTH (10) returns from a sixteen-week spell. Mixed it with the best fillies last prep, the highlight a 2.4 length fourth in the Group 3 Ethereal over 2000m at Caulfield. Obviously needs more ground but could surprise while fresh. SAUCITO (4) last raced when an eye-catching fourth on debut over this distance at Warwick Farm in October. Now a gelding and has a host of gear changes. Looks ready for a bright return. WA WA WA (6) has raced handy and filled a minor placing at both runs to date in town. Blinkers go on today so it will be no surprise to see him right there at the finish again. SHERIFF'S STAR (5) meets a better field this time but is worth throwing in the exotics.
