LISTINS LASS (7) stalked the pace then went home a shade too well first-up in a 1000m maiden at Scone. Improved her rating second-up last prep when stepped up to 1250m so this looks the ideal assignment. Can win again. BOOMTOWN CHAT (4) took over a fair way from home and was never in doubt when resuming over 1100m at Hawkesbury a fortnight ago. That was a career-best performance so John Thompson might have found the key to him. Worth following. Not a lot went right for EMILIA JANE (5) in the closing stages of her first-up run over 1100m at Warwick Farm. Scored a barnstorming win second-up over 1250m at Newcastle last prep. Might finish right over the top of these. Last start Nowra maiden winner ISTOLEA MERC (3) takes on a far deeper race today but he is a lightly raced four-year-old from an in-form stable so must be respected. DUCK EGG BLUE (6) resumes. Most competitive right through the last campaign and a couple of recent trials should have her ready for this.
