Open race. ARRAN BAY (1) took a few runs to get fit but proved too strong last start at Flemington over 1800m at Listed level after tracking the pace. He's won at 2000m in the past and has a bit of class in this field. Tricky draw, but if he can slot in just behind the pace he'll go close. NEW YORK HURRICANE (8) was a strong winner of the Kyneton Cup last time out, sitting off a fast tempo and winning well. He drops 1kg off that and looks very well placed again. KEATS (5) was part of that fast tempo at Kyneton and faded having won the Moe Cup on heavy ground easily prior. On his day he's very hard to catch. CHARTERHOUSE (4) is untried at 2000m but was good with 61kg at Randwick last time and loathe to doubt Ciaron Maher stepping him up in trip. SUNSETS (9) will find this easier than the Bendigo Cup.
