MY PORTIA is clearly an improved model all of a sudden and can quickly resume winning ways after a serious jumping error cost her all chance at Leicester 12 days ago. Fearless Action and Beat The Edge both have risks attached to them for different reasons but are also capable, too.

Made a winning chase debut over C&D on final run for Rebecca Menzies but unable to build on that for current yard, though trip too far at Newcastle latest. Back on winning mark now at least.

Won at Kelso last season and good runner-up efforts 2 of 4 starts this term. Shaped as if amiss other 2 starts, including last time, but type to bounce back.

    Verdict
In decent form for new yard, including a 19f win here on New Year's Day. However, should have won at Sedgefield 3 weeks ago, idled markedly run-in and headed dying strides, so clearly not straightforward.

Justified good support in going one better than at Leicester when scoring at Market Rasen last month. Lost all hope with a serious error back at former course 12 days ago and well worth another chance.

Still looking for first success but arrives in decent nick, his latest run at Ludlow best ignored (taken on for the lead). Should give another good account from the front.

Gained a third success over fences at Southwell (15.8f) in March but her form has been mixed since (including over hurdles), well held back chasing last 2 starts. Others more persuasive.

Long-standing maiden over hurdles/fences. Turned in his best effort of the season fitted with this headgear when fourth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Ayr 5 weeks ago but remains opposable for win purposes back over fences.
