POISED (4) was runner-up on debut and then showed pace at her next start before being put aside to mature. She has a couple of trials under her belt and will be spot on to run a big race. BIG RED TEQUILA (1) ran on strongly once in the clear at Wyong nearly 2 weeks ago and finished third. She would have learned a lot from that experience, and even from a wide gate, she can figure in the top 3 again. OAKFIELD UNIVERSE (3) chased the winner in vain when making her debut at Newcastle and finishing second. She cops another decent draw and will naturally improve second up. With the right run, she can go one better. SURF'S UP (11) was only half a length behind the winner on debut at Warwick Farm a fortnight ago. She has a superior gate here and won't be in this class for much longer. COLD GIN (9) found some trouble on debut and was not far off the winner. She has the pole position this time and drops 3kg. Stick with her.
