MAGIC LEPRECHAUN (1) has thrived since switching to the Brett Mallyon stable this prep. Closed nicely first-up at Grafton then stepped up to 1200m at Murwillumbah last start and was edged out as favourite. Kept fresh since that run six weeks ago. Looks ready to win. The speedy ROULLOTTIE (4) held a clear lead heading for the judge last time out over this course and distance but found the winner too strong. Cherry-ripe after two runs back from a brief spell and will prove tough to catch. Market watch on I AM MINK (13) first-up from a nine-week lay-off. The lightly raced SOON TO BLOOM (11) may be a big improver with a tongue tie and visors fitted for the first time.
