MONTEPULCIANO (1) was no match for them last start in the G3 Lord Reims Stakes but this is certainly not that. Hasn't won for a long time but has pushed some handier types during that period. Expect him to settle back early and be climbing over their backs in the straight. DUAL FUEL (3) also hasn't saluted in a long time but put the writing on the wall here last start in a tougher grade. Shoulders a solid record over this course and distance and has to be considered. RABTAT (4) often leaves himself with too much to do but is a capable type on his day. Holds intrigue on the rapid turnaround after failing to feature on Adelaide Cup Day. Don't dismiss. A case can also be made for BADONKIDONK (6) who chased strongly just miss at Penola last start. Strips fitter third-up and can sneak into the frame. GENTEEL (5) next best.
