Self-exclusion: voluntarily stop playing

You can take a break from gambling or stop playing all together in a few simple steps. Below you'll find information about our exclusion tools and how they work.

How does self-exclusion work?

The exclusion tool can help you take healthy breaks when needed. You can choose from:

  • Take a break: This option allows you to have a break from playing for 24 hours, 7, 30 or 42 days. You just need to log in to your account to play again when that period is over.
  • Self-exclude from playing: Exclude your account for 180 days up to 5 years. Once it expires, contact us and we'll help you reinstate your account. We also offer permanent exclusion.

We're part of the same group as Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG), Paddy Power and Betfair, so the all-product exclusion will apply to all accounts where details match. If you exclude your SBG account, your PokerStars account will be excluded too. And vice-versa.

For more details, visit the Responsible Gaming section of our website here.

How do I apply a self-exclusion to my account?

To apply this to your account, follow these instructions, depending on how you access your account:

  • Desktop: Tools → Responsible Gaming → Take A Break From Playing
  • Mobile: Account → Responsible Gaming Settings → Take A Break From Playing

If you're on our website, you can pick this button:

If you exclude your account on PokerStars for more than 180 days, the same restriction will be applied to any UK accounts with matching details with brands that are part of Flutter Group. This includes Paddy Power Online, Betfair and Sky Betting & Gaming. This rule is part of our Safer Gambling policy.

When will I be able to play again?

Once you confirm an exclusion, we can't reverse your decision. You'll be able to enjoy our games again when the exclusion period expires.

To see the specific time and date when your exclusion expires, log in to your account and go to the Responsible Gaming section. Under 'take a break', you'll be able to see details of when your exclusion expires.

If the exclusion on your Paddy Power, Betfair or Sky Betting & Gaming account has expired and you want to return to PokerStars, contact us and we'll help you reinstate your account.

What can and can't I do during a self-exclusion?

If the exclusion is less than 180 days, you'll still be able to log in to your account and withdraw. But you won't be able to play any games, make deposits or transfer any funds. We also won't send you any newsletters or emails. If you excluded yourself for 180 days or more, you won't be able to access your account.

What about my balance?

If you choose an exclusion period over 180 days, we'll cash out your remaining balance on your behalf.

How do I know if self-excluding is right for me?

To know if self-excluding is right for you, you can try a self-test the Responsible Gambling section of our website.

There you'll find more information on tools that we offer or ways to prevent yourself from gambling.

How can I identify the risks of a gambling problem?

You can identify and reduce the risks before they develop into a gambling problem. We've created guidelines on how to be more mindful when gambling. You can read them here.

Can I restrict or block a specific game?
